In September we celebrated 20 years of our church in Bristol. Over 400 of us gathered at 'We the Curious' in the heart of Bristol. Guy Miller spoke to mark the launch of a new chapter here at City Church.
Week of Prayer
Prayer is the foundation of everything we do here at City. In the words of Martin Luther; "To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible that to be alive without breathing". We are committed to developing a culture where praying becomes as normal as breathing!
In addition to our regular rhythm of prayer and our Sunday Morning Meetings, we regularly run 'Weeks of Prayer' where we gather together for morning and evening prayer meetings. We love these times of worship and prayer, and often find there is more space made for us to go deeper with God. The meetings are always relaxed and we encourage people to come expectant and ready to share with each other.
This month, we will be holding two evening prayer meetings, which will both run from 7.30-9pm. Tuesday's prayer meeting will take place in the Small Hall at the Elmgrove Centre, BS6 6AH. Thursday's evening meeting will take place at Bradley Stoke Community School, BS32 9BL. If you usually attend a small group on either of these evenings, we'd encourage you to come along to these meetings together as a whole group instead.
There will also be two morning meetings at the Elmgrove Centre (Small Hall), which we'd love to see you at! Join us on Wednesday morning from 6.30-7.30am for an hour of prayer, and on Saturday from 9-10am. We're looking forward to starting this new term with prayer and worship as we press in even deeper to God's Presence.
